Shepherd's Heartbeat was founded by Clarice Richards, who survived the Liberian civil war. She and her two sons experienced capture, starvation and homelessness at the hands of rebel forces. One of her sons succumbed to severe malnutrition during this time. Clarice and her remaining son then experienced the restoration of their lives due to help she received from charitable organizations around the world.
God gave Ms. Richards the purpose of aiding children left vulnerable and/or destitute by circumstances beyond their control.
Shepherd's Heartbeat is a faith-based collaborative project aimed at supporting orphans and marginalized children in Liberia through economic, emotional, and social support, including education.
Reliant upon GOD’s guidance, Shepherd's Heartbeat will guide these children with the tools necessary for their spiritual, emotional, and physical development.
Horizontal is a Christian clothing brand created by the one who JESUS loves, Victoria Oluajayi. After a family fast, HOLY SPIRIT gave her the idea, the logo, and the concept for the brand. She quickly wrote it down. Launched in the summer of 2020, it has become a rapid success.
As a college student and entrepreneur, Victoria has learned that many times GOD does not tell us everything because HE wants each person to dig for HIS buried treasure and gain knowledge, practice and skills along the journey. The journey is just as important as arriving at the destination.
The term horizontal represents Victoria’s prayer posture, which is REST. This means, when we are praying, a conversation with GOD comes more naturally in a resting position, like lying down.
The foundational Scripture is John 3:16, which is the good news of salvation that we are saved through JESUS CHRIST when we accept Him as our Lord and Savior.
The elephant in the clothing design represents wisdom, patience, and kindness. Other religions may also use the elephant, but every animal was created by GOD and it is okay to take the elephant back as part of God’s restorative plan of HIS kingdom on earth. Genesis 1:26 says that we have dominion and from that we learn that GOD’s plan is to make earth a colony of Heaven. Therefore, every living creature is a part of the new colony GOD is establishing, and it is “good” (Genesis 1:31).
Rest is Horizontal.
