Ekklesia or Church: Changing Culture for CHRIST

October 2, 2020

17Jesus replied, ‘Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah! For this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by My Father in heaven.

18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church [Ekklesia], and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it.’” Matthew 16:17-18

Now look at verse 18 in the Greek, which is what the original language of the New Testament. https://biblehub.com/text/matthew/16-18.htm

Ekklesia engages culture, seeking to be the solution where there is a problem. We bring the light of JESUS CHRIST into every situation we encounter. The Hogue family is a great example of Ekklesia in action. They are teaching the Body of CHRIST how to care for orphans in America.

Infusing, transforming culture with JESUS CHRIST, is what makes us salt on the earth and light in the world.

The word Ekklesia was incorrectly translated as “Church” in our Bibles. However, GOD is fixing all of that in this season. HE shut down the stuff that was not working and is reintroducing HIS children to HIS Kingdom. What is the definition of Ekklesia?

Etymology and meaning
Where the Masoretic Text uses the term qahal, the Septuagint usually uses the Koine Greek term ekklesia, ἐκκλησία, which means "summoned group" (literally, "they who are called out").

What did they do?
In ancient Greek culture, the gathering ofcalled out ones” met to discuss and make decisions about war and foreign policy; wrote, and revised laws; and approved or condemned the conduct of public officials.

JESUS uses this word to describe the activities of HIS children in the world. We are to be involved in every aspect of culture, government, business, banking, education, entertainment, and much more.

Not confined to buildings.

Being "called out ones" is in line with everything GOD has been saying throughout Scripture.

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called
you out of darkness into His marvelous light…” 1 Peter 2:9

Out of the SEED (JESUS) and seed (Jacob aka Israel) of Abraham, HE created a called-out people, holy, separate unto HIMSELF – people whom GOD can trust to do HIS Will on the earth. People who are lead by the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Romans 8:14

Ekklesia is a gathering of "called out ones", who are lead by the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD.

The Hogue family in picture above, fostered 18 children and adopted 10. When the call of the LORD by HIS SPIRIT came to enter the invisible mission field of orphans in America, they did not hide, rather they engaged.

In this season of transition across the world, the LORD wants us to see that the gates of hell cannot prevail against HIS “called out ones” that are lead by HIS SPIRIT.

The voice of our FATHER sets us apart and we are undefeatable because of it.

We the Remnant of JESUS CHRIST, HIS Ekklesia on the earth must rise up and become the solution. When we support foster families, provide foster care or adopt a child or children in need, we are demonstrating our Ekklesia-ness on the earth.

On behalf of those whom you feed, educate, clothe, deliver Bibles to, pay for their prescription medications, adopt/foster/support, both in the USA and in all nine countries where WeRemnant has projects, thank you for doing GOD’s good pleasure.

On behalf of the persecuted Ekklesia of JESUS who are walking out their faith under fear of discovery, living and worshiping in caves and other hiding places, we thank you for walking out your salvation by showing them kindness through the supplies you send monthly.
