Congratulations, You Are an Answer to Prayer

August 31, 2020

“Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; My ears You have opened. Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require. 7 Then I said, ‘Behold, I come; in the scroll of the book it is written of me. 8 I delight to do Your will, O my God, and Your law is within my heart.’” Psalm 40:6-8 (NKJV)

I absolutely love this verse in the Holy Bible. See the same verses in The Passion Translation (TPT):

“It’s not sacrifices that really move your heart. Burnt offerings, sin offerings—that’s not what brings you joy. But when you open my ears and speak deeply to me, I become your willing servant, your prisoner of love for life. 7 So I said, ‘Here I am! I’m coming to you as a sacrifice, for in the prophetic scrolls of your book you have written about me. 8 I delight to fulfill your will, my God, for your living words are written upon the pages of my heart.’” Psalm 40:6-8 (TPT)

These verses written by King David many decades ago show the desire of GOD, the CREATOR of everything, for a friend…a friend in me. HE wants you and me to be HIS friends.

HE wants to share HIS heart with our ears, so HE opens them so we can hear HIM. GOD wants to have deep conversations with us, private conversations with HIS prisoners of love for life.

Oh, our hearts should long to hear what is on the heart of Almighty GOD. Many times, when HE speaks, HE is talking to us about us, and other human beings. HE is so concerned about how we treat each other that the very second command JESUS gives is to love our neighbor as well as we love ourselves.

“The religious scholar answered, ‘It states, “You must love the Lord God with all your heart, all your passion, all your energy, and your every thought. And you must love your neighbor as well as you love yourself.”’” Luke 10:27 (TPT)

Therefore, when you provide food for an abandoned mother and her four disabled children, you are loving your neighbor as much as you love yourself.

The lady in this image below is from a remote village in Malawi. Her husband, a peasant farmer, abandoned her and her four children because he believed she could only produce disabled children for him. Therefore, he simply left.

All alone and without the ability to farm, the mother’s only prayer was for GOD to send them food to eat so she and her children would not starve to death.

Thanks to you and I loving our neighbor as well as we love ourselves, the LORD used us to provide a steady monthly supply of food for her and her four disabled children.

What a Mighty GOD we serve. HE knows where the needs are, and HE knows how to get the right aid to HIS people.

Congratulations, you are an answer to prayer.
