Isaiah 9:6 told us over 800 years before JESUS CHRIST was born that the FATHER would give us HIS
SON, and that the government would be on HIS shoulders.
Shoulders that love the forgotten, that care about human suffering, and dry the tears from the eyes of those who trust in HIM.
Shoulders that were tailor-made for us.
Shoulders that were strong enough to carry the weight of the Cross, yet are tender enough to cry on.
Shoulders specifically designed to express the righteous justice and judgement of GOD to all mankind.
Every time I read the verse, “a body you have prepared for me,” it does something to my spirit. It reminds me of the greatness and purposefulness of the love GOD expressed through the plan of salvation. JESUS was not Plan B. HE was the only plan.
GOD knew Adam and Eve would mess up in the Garden of Eden. GOD knew the temple would be destroyed in 70 AD and animal sacrifices would end, even for the Jews. Therefore, HE provided a sacrifice and offering for HIMSELF, the perfect ONE at the perfect time, once and for all sacrifice, JESUS CHRIST.
How could this be, that the SON of GOD would put on human flesh, feel pain, allow HIMSELF to be tortured and then nailed to a tree, just for me? Just for you? And all the me’s and you’s across generations. Wow.
This season, as we celebrate the earthly birthday of our JESUS, the perfect Lamb of GOD, remember what HE did. Remember that HE is not a baby anymore. HE is not in the earthly body anymore. Rather, the Body prepared for HIM now, is you and I, who make up the Ekklesia, the Body of CHRIST, joined together by the SPIRIT of JESUS CHRIST, the HOLY SPIRIT.
